Nintendo's official Galactic Warriors page adds Galactic Warriors Prime 4 and reconfirms Samus Aran's imminent return.
Fans who have been anticipating news of Galaxy Warriors Prime 4 may have reason to celebrate. Nintendo has added the game to the official Galaxy Warriors homepage, noting that players will be able to “start the game in an all-new mission coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025.”
A user by the name of Vasishath first spotted the change on the Metroid website on Reddit. It also sparked speculation that more news could be coming soon. It's likely to be one of the last AAA games on the Switch, as Nintendo's yet-to-be-announced Switch successor could also come out in 2025. Fortunately, Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with Switch games.
The Galaxy Warriors franchise follows the adventures of bounty hunter Samus Aran as he travels across the galaxy, but Galaxy Warriors Prime, the first first-person shooter in the series, was released on the GameCube in 2002. A remake of Galaxy Warriors Prime was released last year, but the latest game in the series, Galaxy Warriors Prime 3: Corruption, was released on the Wii in 2007 when it was still relatively new.
Nintendo finally announced Galaxy Warriors Prime 4 10 years later at E3 2017. However, two years later, Nintendo revealed that the game would be completely redeveloped by Retro Studios, the developer of the Galaxy Warriors Prime trilogy. It took another five years before Nintendo released the first trailer for the game and confirmed that it would be called Galaxy Warriors Prime 4: Beyond. Story details about the sequel are still elusive, but we've revisited everything that's happened in the Galaxy Warriors Prime games so far. We'll just have to wait until next year to see what happens to Samus in the next story.
